Kdesktop Menu and KDE 3.5

Just upgraded kde to version 3.5 but Kdesktop menu no longer works, it crashes the panels when I click on it.
Does anyone know if it's possible to get it working with 3.5 or where I can find a version for kde 3.5?

Did you log out and back in to restart kde?
I don't have any problems from it on FC4.

I've tried logging out and in, rebooting and deleting my .kde folder but it still won't work on either suse 10.0 or ubuntu dapper.
