kdenlive error message during rendering

I am trying to create a 30 minute DVD using kdenlive on Linux Mint 17.1. The video comprises:
- Title created in kdenlive
- Two videos in .mov format (1920x1080, 30p)
- Slideshow created in kdenlive using .jpg images
- end title page created in kdenlive

Kdenlive crashes during rendering with the following message:
Non-reference picture received and no reference available [h264 @ 0x7f240c631500] decode_slice_header error vb

Can anyone tell me what this means and what I can do to correct it? Also, where can I find explanations of kdenlive error messages for future reference?

Thanks.
