KDE4: saving programs, positions and window settings on exit

When using logout from the KDE menu (4.2) I find that upon login some programs (randomly) do not start back up. Occasionally they move position. Occasionally they do not remember the "noborder" attribute.

Why is it so random? Is KDE not giving the applications time to quit? I have three screens and one has amorak, ktorrent, kmix, kopete, konsole and maybe a few others organised precisely.

Also, when setting extras do I use Special Window or special Application settings? What is the third tick box for next to each setting and why can't I, for example, remove ther App from the taskbar via "force now" and "remember" at the same time. I have to set it once then set it again. Rather stupid imho.

Cheers,

Andrew

Oh, and the only program that persistantly saves its state, window setting and size is Amarok. Because it begins with an 'A'?...

KDE 4 while nice looking imho you just need to deal with the little bugs don't try to figure it out

I have found to fix kde from time to time I mv my .kde folder to a backup location and reboot. You lose all your settings but it can resolve alot of bugs.
