Unhappy KDE3 and KDE2 on same box

O.K. Here is the deal. I had a good install of RH7.2 and KDE3 running smooth. The only problem was that my gcc could not create executables. I booted from the CD and made sure that I had all languages and libraries installed as I saw in another post.
Now it boots to KDE2. The KDE3 files are still there. Is there a way that I can get it to go to KDE3 instead of 2 or will I have to go through the drama of reinstalling 3. I tried renaming my .kde's
in my root directory so that .kde is the one that I used on 3, but that didn't work. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
RodDog
