KDE - screen power off stops orking after a while
I have slackware 10.2 on a DELL C600 Laptop,, I have told KDE
in the control panel to turn off the screen after 1 minute of inactivity. This works fine. Unfortunately, after a while, it simply stops going on Power Off, ad if I were still moving the mouse or something... If I switch into RL3 then back into KDE, then it starts working again, it's very strange. Also - when i go into StandBy from KLaptop, the screen stays on; is there a way to avoid this? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Riddick |
For the first problem, maybe you are still moving the mouse. What I mean is that it's not unusual for mice and touchpads to pick up on vibration or for the mouse to move slightly from cable pressure or to settle in a new position on an uneven surface, or for touchpad layers to settle some time after you stop using them.
To check for this you could dump the output of /dev/mouse into a text file before leaving the machine. If it wakes up when you're not using, return and check the contents of /dev/mouse for a non zero value. cat /dev/mouse > /home/user/mousetest There may be a movement threshold setting that you can increase. |
done that.. I don't think that's the issue - any other idea?
