KDE: Replacement for kicker (KSmoothdock)

Hello all... I just downloaded KSmoothdock and really like it. I would like for it to replace the kicker, but I have two issues which I am hoping that someone can help me with.

1) The KSmoothdock uses kicker to get the K-Menu to work (something through dcop-not sure). Is there a way to use the menu without having kicker open? I have found it works if I have kicker open and just hidden.

2) How would I go about not having kicker load and replace it with KSmoothdock? Number one would have to be addressed prior to doing this, but its something I would like to do in the long run.

If it helps, Im using MDK 10 Comm and KDE 3.2

Thanks in advance!

right-click on the desktop, goto Configure Desktop. See the section on the bottom that says "Mouse Button Actions", assign "Application Menu" to one of the 3 buttons, the 3rd button is ideal! then you can access the KMenu w/out the kicker

hmmm, I wonder if it would be possible to find a way to put it in a KDE Desktop Config File for use like that... so I can create a shortcut on the dock and show it that way.

Although I think I will set it up like that (Similar to fluxbox). I like it that way. I only wish I could configure it as easily as fluxbox
