Hi. I'm running Mandriva 2006 with KDE. I don't know what I did last with my Linux (I may have updated it) since I haven't been on in a few weeks, but now when I get to the login screen for KDE, I login, it thinks, I get a 'static' screen, then am back at login. I can login to IceWM and the non-graphic linux, but I'd like my KDE back. On loading linux, there doesn't say any error message and everything loads fine it seems, although I may get an error message when shutting down (didn't catch it). What do I do? And if I do have to reinstall (as I'm thinking I will), should I stick with Mandriva?
Oh, and just in case... with KDE, if i get it back, when shutting down, you should get an option to shutdown/restart (with Win/Linux)/ etc, yes? Or at least I used to, but now no matter what I click, it just shuts down. Again, help appreciated.
Thanks for helping this newbie,
Cheers
