KDE Kmenu Acting Odd

Hello I am not sure if you have seen this before but everytime I try to add a new "New Item" I can do so, so then if I want to add more applications to that by "Add Sub-menu" I can add one then when I load kmenu it is all messed, as in the "new item" is actually firefox not a list of coresponding applications. seems all messed to me lol if you can remedy this I would love it. thanks again!
