KDE headers

Hi
I'm using KDE3.2.2 on SuSE 9.
I'm trying to install knewspost.
Ive got newspost installed and working
Knewspost is a gui fronend to this.
When I run ./configure it tells me there's no kde headers installed.
whereis kde
kde: /usr/X11R6/bin/kde /usr/bin/X11/kde /usr/X11/bin/kde
Ive tried running ./configure --with-kde-dir= with the above directories,
and I still get no kde headers found.

If someone could let me know what I should be searching for, ie a filename of these headers etc.

BTW Ive installed all the kde packages, someone in a newsgroup suggested I might be missing the development packs, so I installed all those yesterday and still get no headers found.

You need to install the development packages for KDE, they provide the header files and are not installed unless you tell the installer you want them.

I am not really familiar with SuSE but the packages should be called something along the lines of kde-devel-<version> or kde-libs-devel-<version>. They should be on your installation CD's or get them from your local SuSE FTP mirror. Make sure the versions match the packages you have installed.

Try to install kdelibs for your version of kde with --prefix=/opt/kde, and then run the configure script for Knewspost with the same script, that should work.
