Kde/Gnome look and feel

Can someone instruct me in what software needs to be applied to these 2 wms to make them shine with the vivid vibrancy in winxp and mac osx. It's always been my opinion the kde and gnome need more pixelmapping? That sheen that the other desktops have.

Like Linair is going with. did they gpl thier graphics stuff so that it can be applied to any linux/unix system? everyones help is appreciated.

You can improve KDE's look by using the Plastik style and customize the colour scheme in the Control Center. There is also a Lipstik style, which is interesting. Get it from www.kde-look.org

I'm not a Gnome person, so I can't help you there, but there is a www.gnome-look.org site.

You might also want to install gtk-qt-engine: http://www.freedesktop.org/Software/gtk-qt

kde-look.org has all the goodies you need to configure KDE to your own needs. You can change your icon theme, window decorations, style etc. Take a look at my screenie for what you can do with the artwork and apps from kde-look.

As for gnome, you can't configure it as much as KDE. There are good themes at gnome-look.org and art.gnome.org.
