So... I had a KDE 3.1 on my slackware 9.1, and I wanted to ajust the refresh rate (it was only 60Hz @ 1024x768, with my LG Flatron 795FT monitor). So I walked up into the settings thingie and wanted to put a bigger refresh. But it wouldn't let me, with the "plug'n'play" generic monitor, and the 795 wasn't on the list, so I selected another LG Flatron, put it to 85Hz (my mon. goes up to 120Hz, with 100Hz recommended @ 1024). I rebooted KDE, but after a few seconds of blank screen, it goes back into the console. I tried with other users, but it behaves the same. Other WM's (like Fluxbox or XFCE) work fine (but still in 60Hz, and worst, in 800x600
) so I think the trouble is with KDE and not X11. Please help to reset my KDE and set it to a decent refresh rate!
PS: Other specs: V/C ATi RADEON 7200 VIVO, PIII 933E, MSI mobo
