KDE crashes on start, so does any KDE app...
Hello. My problem is thus: I was installing a new iconset for kde, and it literally killed kde on the spot (it was gorilla icons, I believe). Anyway, I was not too concerned (I don't use KDE much), but it caused all KDE applications to fail. Here's my message from a KDE app run from GNOME:
Code:
dude@linux1:~$ kwordOh, and KDE works fine with other users. |
it really just a bug in
libart_lgpl they should be handeling the error of funky user image input better than just using assert or whatever to kill the entire thing ! but on a user level try editing ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals down a ways is an icon setting try something safe like [Icons] Theme=crystalsvg if you can't get it going try deleting .kde folder altogether and see if it wil start and give you the config wiz also if you feel like it file a bug report with libart_lgpl and tell them a simple icon killed all of kde dead |
Thank you very much, that worked perfectly.
