KDE behaving weird (switches desktop to gnome)
I'm running KDE 3.1.5 on debian and uses kde as desktop manager. Everything works fine until today where KDE developed a strange behaviour. When I log in as user everything loads fine. Just after a few seconds the desktop switches to the gnome desktop. In root this doesn't happen. I hav eno clue why and how to fix this.
Any clues? Regards |
I had the same thing happen to me once after starting a gnome program that must have been integrated with the window manager and it kept starting up gnome after kde. Im not sure but i think i just killed every gnome process then restart kde.

lemme guess, you use Nautilus as your filemanager. I have done the same thing before. Try using nautilus with the --nodesktop option.

That fixed it! Thanx
