What package(s) do I need to install to print directly to an HP Network printer with JetDirect card?

You need to install cups. I think all the packages you need are:
Code:

apt-get install cupsys cupsys-bsd cupsys-client cupsys-driver-gutenprint foomatic-db foomatic-db-hpijs foomatic-db-gimp-print
Once cups is installed, you can add a network printer by opening a web browser and pointing to: http://localhost:631/
