kde 3.03 to kde 3.04 on suse 8.1

hi

went to kde website.and they have kde 3.04 listed as stable and available for install. i went to the suse binary site, and it has 60 some rmp installs for kde3.04. some questions-

1. is there any way to install kde 3.04 all at once with the 60 rpm files listed'

2. must i uninstall anything first

3. is better to use redhat package manager or yast to install kde 3.04

4. of the 60 files needed to update to kde 3.04, if i have to install theme separately, can i just pick the ones i want to install, and leave the remaing files uninstalled.

Apt-get update && apt-get upgrade works like a charm here.

More info http://apt4rpm.sourceforge.net and special info on suse http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/

Have fun

use the yast online update

It took SuSE a few days to get them there, but kde 3.0.4 is available through the yast online update. I upgraded this way last night, and it works perfectly. Also fixed the problem I had of getting the default Keramik windows decorations. I can now switch between the SuSE default and the Keramik default. Many other little things have been fixed as well.

Be aware that it is a rather large download. I have 768 kb DSL and it took around 15 minutes of straight, bandwith hogging, downloading to get it. Well worth it though.

Does anybody know when KDE 3.1 is set to be officially released?

for kde 3.1 release plan, have a look at
http://developer.kde.org/development...ease-plan.html
But I don't know if they delayed the schedule.
