KDE : 100% cpu load !

Hi !

I have the following problem : my CPU load is often near 100%.
The "top" command says :

53 processes: 51 sleeping, 2 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU states: 72.4% user 27.5% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 0.0% idle
Mem: 513876k av, 484696k used, 29180k free, 0k shrd, 53044k buff
234788k active, 214716k inactive
Swap: 1662716k av, 0k used, 1662716k free 325788k cached

and so on ....

I have been intrigued by the fact that there are 2 "kdeinit" but actually it turns out that the first one is kwin, and the second one is kded.

My system is very usable even with such a cpu load, due to a ck-patched 2.6.4 kernel (i DO confirm that a good 2.6 can really rock !). Nevertheless it's not as responsive as it can be, so your help is welcome.

Any advice will be appreciated !

My config :
Dell 510m laptop, Pentium M, i855GME.
Software : linux 2.6.4, kde 3.2.0, slackware current

Thanks in advance !
Ben

problem solved by upgrading to kde 3.2.1

a normal cpu load under linux+kde is 1 or 2 % even with several apps launched.
