kazaa for slackware 9.1
hi :)
i know this has been asked before, but i need this badly. is there a version of kazaa that runs on linux? if yes, then please give me the url. advance thanks for your replies... |
I need one that works on RedHat/Mandrake. Please don't tell me to use WINE, I can't get it to load KaZaa.
|
Try a search for "kazaa" and "linux" using the search button at the top of the page. It's been asked a lot and there are many options.
|
I recommend DC++ or Direct Connect for linux. Direct Connect is hands down the best peer-to-peer network around.

well
too my knowledge there isnt a version of kazaa of kazaa lite for linux from what i hear, giFT is as good as it but im having alot of trouble setting it up i have gotten LimeWire set up tho had a little bit of trouble, but not as much as giFT http://gift.sourceforge.net/ http://limewire.com/ good luck S-M |
There's a DC++ version native to Linux??? Their (outdated) website says there isn't.
However, DC++ for Windows works under WINE, the only program I've tried that does. |
well i also recommend DC also, cause it beats any peer to peer client hands down ...
and no there is no DC++, in linux it is called DCGUI-QT and its actually better than any DC client built for windows, and no i am not just saying that cause i am a linux user ... anyways, i am not sure why people put up a fuss about kazaa, cause there is so many things out there that are better or equivalent... just go to sourceforge.net and browse the software map for clients and you'll notice that there are hundreds of them, even zeropaid.com has a list of clients for linux...so as you will see there is many, many alternatives, so stop pulling your hair out and think you can only use kazaa, or that kazaa is the best, or whatever it may be ... there is even clients you can get that use the kazaa network, if for some reason you really can't pull yourself away from kazaa... |
DC++ is a POS. It's designed for Windows users ( no node accepts the linux version ) and people with illimited bandwith a month and 250 GB Hard drives.
