Karamba
Okay I'm trying to install Karamba-0.17 on rh9 system. When I run ./configure I get this error saying I'm missing qt 3.0. Redhat comes with qt 3.1.1-6 and I also installed the qt-devel package. Still not working and getting the same error. Has anyone got karamba working? Thanks in advance for any help?

Try superkaramba instead, it may compile better for you. It worked well for me and I have qt 3.1.1-68.

Okay I got passed the qt dependency with superkaramba, thanks Franklin! Now Im getting this error:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lart_lgpl_2 collect2: ld returned 1 exit status what is "-lart_lgpl_2"? |
Looks like your missing a library - the package is "libart_lpgl" you'll find it under the "All of KDE' tree under YAST-install software. But this should have been installed by default. Check and see.
You'll also need libart_lpgl devel. do asearch under libart and both those will pop up. The dev package isn't installed by default. |
Franklin,
Thanks that helped. I can now run make and make install. Now how do I run the program? I tried running 'superkaramba' and 'karamba' with a fil/dir not found error. Is it installed properly? Am I skipping a step? |
okay silly me, I found it, its in /usr/local/kde/bin/superkaramba

Now I got superkaramba running and after everything I went through it runs really slow. I tried a few themes and they run so slow they are not worth it. I then tried the xmms theme and it crashed my system. Has anyone else had any problems? (And no I don't have a slow system, I have a decent one: 1GHz processor, 512 SDRAM) I guess I could try karamba. Anyone know the big difference between superkaramba and karamba?
