Hey guys im currently running the latest version of Kubuntu, (breezy) and im using the Kaffeine media player. The w32codecs package is installed. The kaffeine-xine package is installed.

For some reason sound in video doesnt work properly, its pretty much a dead cert that its a codec issue as mp3/cda and kubuntu audio is fine. Pretty odd eh

Im not 100% clued up with sound in linux, I know that my sound mixer is Kmix and my sound card is a SoundMax, using Alsa is it? Anyways I dont think thats an issue.

Maybe i tell a lie, mp3 in amaroK/Kaffeine is broken, but works in xmms

uninstall everything and reinstall everyhting?

just download all xine plugins frome xinehq and extract them to /usr/lib/win32 (if it doesn't exist create it).
