hi there,
some points: kaeffeine is just a GUI - front end. afaik it uses the xine player. you can check their website to install codecs, i think is necessary to recompile the software. you can't just copy somewhere and it will work. you need to recompile it. regards slackie1000 |
could u explain me how pls?
cheers |
Try /usr/lin/win32. I don't use Kafeine, but I have gsed GXine, which is also a front end for Xine, and looks for codecs in this folder by default. It might be safe to assume, therefore, that this is the default location for Kaffeine as well.

i dont got that folder :S

I guess the codecs will always be 32bit (since they are for microsoft windows). I would stiil suggest to try the rpm, but if you want to stick to the tar.bz2, you could help us to provbide the source of this files.
I think hand_of_fate wanted to refer to /usr/lib/win32. If it does not exist, you may create it. You may also specify another location in the settings of gxine/kaffeine etc. |
