KAddressBook (Kontact) sorts contacts in strange ways

I noticed that when KAddressBook saves your contact info into the appropriate .vcf data file, the order seems somewhat random. I opened the raw .vcf file in a text editor, and noted that they were sorted by a somewhat cryptic hexadecimal UID system.

This is a minor problem, as I can easily choose to sort by name in the actual KAddressBook interface. However, the program does select the first person in the .vcf file by default, which is rather annoying. (I would prefer that it select the first person alphabetically, according to last name or formatted name, depending on how I set it; or that it select the person last selected.) Furthermore, when you try to export your contacts into a spreadsheet or something, the output file reflects the order of the UIDs. Is there a way to force KAddressBook to save each entry in a logical order?
