K3B won't recognise a unformatted dvd+rw when inserted into drive.

When I make a home movie DVD I like to test it on a TV before I make the final burn. To avoid throwing away too many DVD+R's I first burn to a DVD+RW disk using K3B. I did this routinely until I had to reinstall all due to a disk failure. Now, while I can burn to a DVD+R and reburn to a previously used DVD+RW, when I insert a unformated (new) DVD+RW K3B doesn't recognise any media present in the drive at all; as if it was empty. The same if attempt to format the disk in K3B.

Anybody know why?

Jack

I appreciate the 22 look sees. I was having the problem with the only unformatted DVD+RW I had. On a hunch I bought some more and tried one of them. It worked as it should. I guess the other DVD was bad out of the box. I tossed it.

Sorry for the false alarm. Maybe someone can learn from my mistake though.

Jack
