K3b says that I need to turn on SCSI emulation?
I don't get why but when I run k3b it says I need to turn on SCSI emulation yet I am sure that I have it on.
And I used to not get this message when I used the last version of k3b. Please forgive me but I have forgotten what to pass to the kernel to do this. So please tell me what I must pass to my kernel to enable this? |
In lilo it's something like:
append="hdc=ide-scsi" Where hdc is the device your burner is attached to ;) Cool |
Thanks.
*looks at people who didn't say anything* Was that, that hard to say? We need more people like you who don't think they are to 1337 to help someone. |
the people who didn't say anything after... 49 minutes??!?! what are you talking about?
none of the frequent fliers on this site appear to think they're anything special. those people tend to quickly drift of to black websites where they all have silly little avatars and other pointless junk. |
Ohhhh most people (that I know) think Linux users are 1337ests and don't want to help n00bs.
|
I'm the n00b helper though, so it's nothing, glad I could help ;)
Cool |
whats wrong with avatars? Though I bet that if we did it here, 90% of them would be a penguin.
oh, make sure you run "lilo" after editing it. |
i think your referring to them people on linux channels on irc that call everyone n00bs that ask a question....i have never ever seen it done here and i don't think i expect to in the future...everyone is always giving a helping hand...i just think you have a bad case of impatients cause like acid_kewpie said, you only had to wait 49mins..

I disn't understand.
How to config lilo to emulate scsi? Exactly |
in your /etc/lilo.conf file, under your linux section, add:
append=hdc=ide-scsi replacing "hdc" with whatever your cdrom drive is: a=primary master, b=primary slave, c=secondary master, d=secondary slave. then once you save, as root run: /sbin/lilo |
Thanx, I studied lilo.conf and append, so I got it.
lilo.conf: ... append = "hdb=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi" ... fstab: ... /dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrw /dev/sr1 /mnt/cdrom So k3bsetup found everything correctly and k3b don't have errors, I'm ready to burn. |
