k3b QT headers problems

Hi now am trying to install k3b on red hat AS 9 and i get this error after running the ./configure command:
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.2 and < 4.0) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
So i venture out to look for the missing libraries and ive been going round in circles.
is there an rpm for this software or do you absolutely have to compile it from the source?

And another thing where do i get QT 3.2 or 4.0 if at all that is the issue?

You need to install the devel package for qt3. If you cannot find the desired package, then you can get the qt sources from tolltech and compile them yourself. An alternative would be to get a newer distro e.g. Fedora Core or CentOS that is still being actively maintained unlike Redhat 9.
