Has anybody made k3b work in slack? I get an error that it canot find libasound.so.2, which makes sense, cuz I don't have libasound installed. However, I have a hard time believing that you cannot compile or install k3b without it. I use gtoaster right now, but k3b seems much nicer and I'd like to give it a try. Any help appreciated.

Yep i got it to work, and dont have any libasound.so around here. Just compiled from scratch
I am pleased to say that I have now successfully compiled and installed k3b. All it needed was an install of the alsa-lib package. This is not on the list of essential dependancies so I can only assume that it becomes essential if one has some of the other non-essentials installed - if you see what I mean.
