K3b no media SONY DVD RW DRU-500A

I am experiencing problem with SONY DVD RW DRU-500A dvd writer. I was trying to burn Dvd, i am always getting the same problem from k3b : found no media,
please insert an empty double layer dvd. I used different dvd's but always the same problem. I can write cd disk, see below the detailed output from the k3b. Also see the output from the k3b when i am trying to write dvd. I got this output when i am trying to force k3b to write dvd.

Also do not understand why k3b asking to insert double layer dvd, i am trying to write test data ~ 300mv on 4.7 blank dvd ???
Please, suggest any other solutions to my problems. thank in advance.

You should upgrade, K3b Version: 0.12.17 is old, for example;

http://apt.kde-redhat.org/apt/kde-re...0.fc6.i386.rpm
