I upgraded to mandrake 10 rc1 and almost everything has been perfect. The one program that doesn't work now is k3b. I don't know why but I can't burn (there is no burning device in the menu). So I checked k3bsetup again and the drives are there. External programs cdrdao and cdrecord. When I hit apply I get a message 'there is no group burning'.
Anyone got a clue of how to fix it or what to look for??
thanks in advance
Is that in k3bsetup? Because when I checked configure k3b - devices, I found my cdroms under reader but not writer. When I try to add /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 I get the message 'Could not find additional device at /dev/cdroms/cdrom0'...
The funny thing is that under reader, in the same menu, k3b finds my cdrw and it says 'Write CD/RWs: yes' but it still won't recognize it under writers. So where is it I should add the burning group?
At the top of k3bsetup it says 'Use burning group: burning', so the group is there. Permissions for the devices are 666 and for cdrdao + cdrecord : 4711. Could it be the permissions for cdrdao/cdrecord?
Help is appreciated - (I mostly want to burn some ISOs and try slackware alongside Mandrake)
