K3B - MP3 recording on x86_64
Hello, I would like to get k3b to be able to record mp3s on my computer, but all of the standard methods I've used with i386 doesn't seem to work on a x86_64 installation. I'm using Fedora Core 3 (64 bit version)y.
Adding yum repositories only allows me to install k3b.athlon as a closest match, which crashes once installed and I try to run it. A backtrace results in a message that it can't be of any use because "my packages are built in a way which prevents the creation of proper backtraces" I've also tried k3b.i686, and k3b.i386 and got the same results.
Running k3b from the command line here states "terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc' what(): St9bad_alloc. I took a guess and thought that the athlon build of the RPM was for Athlon XPs, and perhaps not Athlon 64s. I had hoped the other builds (i686,i386) would fare better, but they returned the same result.
So, I decided to try to install from source.
./configure says that I don't have libXext installed. I thought I did. So, I tried the following:
./configure --libdir=/usr/lib64/
or
./configure --with-extra-libs=/usr/X11R6/lib64/
or
./configure --with-libsuffix=64
and all return the same response. Can't find libXext. So, maybe I didn't have it. Yum searching returns nothing. Is it part of a larger package perhaps? like xorg libs?
So, does anyone know how to update k3b via yum or an RPM package, or know how I can get libXext?
Thanks.
