k3b howto make bootable cdrom???

Hi Folks,

I have mandrake 9.2. With it I installed K3b, a cd-burning program.
All day I have desperately tried to let it burn a bootable cdrom.
I spent 3 cdroms and none of them appears to be bootable.
Also very nice is the lack of documentation, the handbook-option under the help-button is greyed-out. On the internet there is lots of k3b, but nothing answers my question.
Anybody who has some experience with this program please reply to my question!

Thanks in advance

Schmurff

if im not mistaken you need a oot image to point it to when you butrn the cd to make i bootable. i could be wrong though, just out of curiosity why are you trying to make a bootable cd?

Try opening K3b, click on tools, then CD, and Burn image (maybe iso). You will then be able to browse to your image file and select it to burn. I have found this to be the best way to burn iso images in K3b.

Then there must be a bug in k3b.
As I mentioned in my question, I have tried every setting without the wanted result: a bootable cdrom. But I only produce frisbees!
That's what it is all about...

Did you md5sum the images? Try doing this first to make sure they are not corrupted files. Also, try burning at a lower speed (4x) which will help the integrity of the file transfer.
