sg, ide-scsi, and sr-mod i think need to be loaded. you don't need them for atapi.
you can try cdrecord dev=ATAPI -scanbus then reference the device as dev=ATAPI:0,1,0 or appropriate. |

K3b-->Settings--->Programs--->User Parameters Added "dev=ATAPI:0,0,0" to cdrecord All good now:) |

Just double click on the box you want to edit below "parameters", you should then get a cursor
