I am running suse 9.2
Every time I start kde it gets to Scanning CD Devices then just stops there and eventually stops working and hangs
I have tried different versions on different distros (Suse and Mandrake) and it does the same thing.
I did get it to work at one point back in the summer when i bought a new CD-RW and installed it and started up Linux and it worked for some reason. Then when i decided to try out Mandrake and uninstalled suse it did the same thing again on mandrake 10.1 and suse 9.2.
I have searched through forums and not really found any info on this.
I have also tried compiling K3b from source then running it
If anyone has any idea that can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Are you positively 100% sure the jumpers are set correctly and you are using matching cable (i. e. CS cable for CS) and your drive is recognized correctly by BIOS?

I had my drives set on auto select in the bios and the jumper on the drives as one set as master and one as slave, so i put them on cable select on both drives and still no luck. I am pretty sure that my bios is recognizing them correctly. Same thing still happens on startup of k3b.
