k3b fixation (?) problem, crashes each cd burned

Cant get to burn any cd with it... Cant do anything with nerolinux either, as it gives me kinda the same error. Basically, I think its a buffer underun error, but I dont know how to fix this. The only thing I can take to burn cd's is Gnome CD/DVD creator, and it doesnt burn audio cd, only data... This is the included error message from K3B... anyone? Thanks very much

Code:

Can that be the problem? I tried changing its permission to a+rwx but it comes back to 755 each time by itself when I go back in the setup k3b dialog box...

Try chmod +s /usr/bin/cdrecord to set the suid bit to give it the real time priority it wants.

Code:
/usr/bin/cdrecord: The current problem looks like a buffer underrun.
/usr/bin/cdrecord: It looks like 'driveropts=burnfree' does not work for this drive.
You might also want to try turning off burnfree in options if you have it ticked. If you still get buffer underruns make sure you are not running any cpu intensive programs while burning and try lower burn speeds.

I tried doing that, but each time I start k3b now it says:

cdrecord = 2.6.8

Since Linux kernel 2.6.8. Solution,use k3bsetup to solve this problem.

But each time I start k3bsetup, it sets cdrecord back to 755.... What's wrong???

Well I never use that setup idea it is supposed to make a new group for burning I believe is the idea then your user has to be a member of the group to get unrestricted access to it. So use the groups command to see which you are a member of then check the settings on cdrecord binary then adduser username group_of_cdrecord as root logout and back in then you should have the proper permissions. If you can burn properly using the +s command then you can always uncheck the show this at start to get rid of the stupid warning.

Hey guys, I'm still having problem with K3b... Im now positive about the fact that it's a permission problem, because when I boot under root, it lets me burn without a hitch...

So what Can I do? I tried creating a burning group, but it doesnt solve the problem, and chmod cdrecord sets itself back each times k3b is restarted... Any idea? I have a CLEAN install... So I cant understand why Im the only one experiencing this problem, I mean, I havent touched anything yet.... Please somebody!
