K3B and root privileges for cdrecord and cdrdao

When I startup k3b I am getting a window telling me I have 2 problems and both problems tell me that cdrecord and cdrdao need to run with root privileges for the program to operate properly. How do I do this? Is it done in the Konsole as I can't get k3b setup to come up and all I have is the drop down in K3B that says configure k3b but I see no place there to do that.

Usually when it says that it will pop up the k3b config window and all you have to do is it apply and then ok. It should auto check the buttons that need to be hit to make it run as root.

All it is doing is starting the gui and on top of that is the message window telling me about the problems. When I say close that window thats it. It does not bring up any other screen or windows. Like I said I can get into the configure k3b manually thru the settings menu on menubar at top, but I don't see a way to set root privileges there. Am I missing something else?
