JVM with GTK2 and XFT?

Wouldn't it be cool if somebody added support for GTK2 and XFT to a 1.4 JVM? It's probably pretty non-trivial, but it would be kick-ass to have TTF fonts in Java. I think font rendering in Java is native isn't it?

Any comments? Does it exist already? Maybe I should email the BlackDown guys... or maybe I should actually get some work done instead of fucking around on LQ while I'm @ the office... nahhhh.

B.

as an addendum: I know there is a swing LAF which uses GTK, which is close to what I was talking about... but a JVM which makes the default Swing LAF a GTK2-bound one, with XFT font support. I guess this technically doesn't require a new JVM at all. I'll feed this to google and report back.
