JRE Plugin for Netscape
I downloaded and ran self extrating JRE runtime edition, but still the netscape is asking me to download the java plugin.
(Linux RPM in self-extracting file)

It seems that netscape is not finding that plugin in my linux system.

please help.

You need to make a link from where you installed it to your Netscape plugin directory.

ln -s /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.1_01/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/ /usr/lib/mozilla-1.0.1/plugins/

At least this is the code for the 1.4.1 SDK installation. I have instructions on my website: < >.

If you don't want to program in Java but just want java applications to run in mozilla or Galeon than just download the Java2Runtime and symbolically link to the mozilla plugin path.
