Joomla

I want to use Joomla in my CentOS system to create web sites. Joomla ia a popular web creation tool.

I saw that it is package in a zip file but I don't know if this is a zip for Windows or Linux?

If anyone is using this product and knows how to download it and install it, can you lend me some help.

Thanks

IIRC Joomla is a PHP script and is platform independent. It comes with an installation instruction, follow that and preferable use the web installation. That is, you have to have Apache + PHP running properly before you unzip joomla. You can install it in you home directory to play around.

There is one caveat: when you have unzipped Joomla, you are the owner. However, Joomla itself runs as www-data, and is not allowed to acces your Joomla installation. You should change the group of the Joomla installation to something which is writable by you, and by Joomla. But you will have Joomla up and running before you see this problem, so you can start anyway.
