Ok, well here I go on a confusing problem... I've been looking for help on google, irc and others to no avail, so finally I come hassle you guys with my probs again

Well, to explain it as best I can...

Java and Javascript seem to have become disabled in a single user account on one of my systems running redhat 9.
This is both in browsers (mozilla, galeon) and other applications such as ymessenger.

The confusing part is that java works fine in other user accounts, including if I su to another user and run galeon or ymessenger from terminal but as soon as I exit from the other user it loses java again.

I'm not sure where to look on the account to solve this problem, and the only solution I can presently see is to reinstall the user account, which I would prefer not to do if it can be avoided.

Anyone have any ideas that might help?

when you say that java works with other acounts do you mean that it works with
root acounts and normal user acounts or just with the root acount ?

when I say it works with other accounts I mean any other accounts, both normal and root.
The normal user accounts I have are silver and poohbear...
silver is the account that is erroring, but if I use "su poohbear" and run galeon from the terminal I su'd in it will work fine.

So it is only the silver account that has the problem, and that is the main normal user account which the entire setup is focused on.. aka nfs drives mounted into the /home/silver/ dir... so you can see why I would prefer to restore the account rather than reinstall it.
