javac ib Fedora 21

Hi,

I have a plan to play around with some code, as I am familiar with libreoffice then I am hoping to install that. I am following instructions from their website:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/...t/How_to_build

and I am up to:

Quote:
./autogen.sh
I have had to resolve a few dependency issues along the way but the latest has got me stumped:

Quote:
checking for java... /usr/bin/java
checking the installed JDK... checked (JDK 1.8.0_20)
checking for javac... no
configure: error: javac not found set with_jdk_home
Error running configure at ./autogen.sh line 258.
I installed Fedora 21 alpha a couple of weeks ago and this was from a live release. I am guessing therefore that I need to install a few things. I can see:

Quote:
[tim@hammer ~]$ yum search javac
Loaded plugins: langpacks
============================== N/S matched: javac ==============================
javacc-demo.noarch : Examples for javacc
javacc-javadoc.noarch : Javadoc for javacc
javacc-manual.noarch : Manual for javacc
javacc-maven-plugin.noarch : JavaCC Maven Plugin
javacc-maven-plugin-javadoc.noarch : Javadoc for javacc-maven-plugin
javacc.noarch : A parser/scanner generator for java
I don't want to just install packages without a good reason. Is javacc the package I am missing? Any suggestions?

I can see the option "--without-java" but I would really like to include all bells and whistles at this point.

Cheers

I have Fedora 20, and javac shows up as follows
Code:
[root@localhost luser]# ls -l /etc/alternatives/javac
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 70 Dec 12  2013 /etc/alternatives/javac -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.60-2.4.3.0.fc20.x86_64/bin/javac
[root@localhost luser]#
They're not inclined to move things around from version to version too much. It should be in /usr/bin, as a symlink pointing to /etc/alternatives. /var/lib/alternatives seems defunct. But as soon as you figure anything out or get to like it in Fedora, they junk it.
