You're welcome. I'm glad it works. I had the same problem back when I didn't quite understand linux.
Just a side note though. The J2RE is what you need to USE programs like Limewire. The J2SDK is what you need to MAKE or PROGRAM programs like Limewire. Unless you're a computer programmer, the SDK is overkill. Not a big issue though. As long as it works. Cheers, Exo |
yeah it pretty much is overkill at this point. now i would say i will use it though someday as i do of course want to get into several different types of programming. however as (i think) everyone else with computer interest does i know that this install of this OS won't last that long. i have beeen using mandrake 10 now for 4 months and already reinstalled it 7 times (i did have a few problems and i messed up another time). so in truth you are very likely right, but only because i cant leave anything alone (tinkering is the best learning method anyway right?).
anyway the SDK and the J2RE both work now and i am able to switch back and forth between them anytime so that is not a big issue. i also have limewire working now and it seems to be pretty decent. anyway thankx again everyone |
