Java Plugin for Firefox
I've Googled my ass off, but I just can't seem to find quite what I'm looking for...
I'm running Slackware 10 on this box, and I need to get the J2SE5 plugin for my Firefox browser... I understand that I need to either copy or create a symbolic link to the plugin in my java directory, and I know where that file is located... however, I've copied it to both my /usr/lib/firefox-1.0/plugins/ directory and my /usr/lib/mozilla-1.7/plugins/ directory... but it still doesn't work... Any ideas??? I'm about to lose it! -Wiski |

cd to ur plugins directory and then enter this command
ln -s /usr/path/to/java/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjava.so (the path above isnt close to being right, but it is a good guide) Copying the file will NOT work, make sure you symlink |
You sir, are the MAN!!!
A million thank-yous... I must've seen the exact same suggestion on a hundred other web-sites, but I thought "Nah... that won't work - If it's copied to the directory, it's the same diff...." WRONG. Drunken stubborness, I guess... Thanks again, Mr. rulz.... worked like a charm... -Wiski |
