You have to link the java plugin to the Mozilla plugins directory. Probably something like this:

ln -sf /usr/java/j2re1.4.2/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4/plugins

Just substitute the correct paths for the java plugin and mozilla plugin directories of course.

You forgot the "ln" before that? Otherwise you couldn't get that error.

ln -sf /usr/java/j2re1.4.2/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4/plugins
