Java install question

Hello,
First time poster here. Linux Newbie

I installed an email server called James from Apache.org on slackware linux and all is working fine. It needed java sdk /jdk for it to run which I installed and all is again working.

My question (s)
When I am out surfing and I hit some pages that have I Java related type pages, it asks me if I want the install of java and sends me to java.sun.org to install Java again.

Any ideas?

j2re-1_4_2-linux-i586.rpm
find this from sun
( google will find it )
or the source file of a simailar name will work
j2re-1_4_2
then depending on your browser and OS
after you have it installed the look in the plugins directory of "j2re-1_4_2"
/usr/java/j2re-1_4_2/plugin/i386

you'll find 3 folders
ns4 , ns610 , ns610-gcc32

if you have mozilla 1.2
make a symbolic link to the contents of ns610

if you have mozilla 1.4 or netscape 7.1
make a symbolic link to the contents of ns610-gcc32

java wil now work

What browser are you using? In Konqueror you have to change one of the option settings so that it knows where the java executable is.
