Java install Problem

This is the problem:

Im trying the new realease from Ubuntu and e tryed to install an accounting software that works under Java and SQL, in this case Postgresql.
I made the download from the Sun website and ive followed the instructions.
But now when i do "java version" i get errors and it seems that the software is not in the correct path.
Ill put here the code that i get when i try to run the accounting software:
Code:

Well, I cant get 'java version' to work either, but 'java -version' shows up correctly..

Im not familiar with your problem, but a thing to check is to make sure you have the $JAVA_HOME env variable set. Mine is: /usr/lib/java

Please remove gcj(it is suitable in some cases but it is not a complete java but a developpement version). Install java from java.sun.com. Use ubuntu FAQ concerning java.
