yeah, the file path is valid but still nothin, do u have icq or somthing?

duh. i think for the java version you have, you need moz version 1.4 or higher. lower versions can't access java sites because moz (plugins part (?) ) was compiled with gcc 3.2. i bet that's the problem. download mozilla 1.5 (the newest version) from mozilla.org and install it.

i have icq and msn, but i'd like to keep it in the forums because other peeps will learn from this. anyway, what do you like - msn or icq?

edit: or try making the link to /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_01/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so

ok i'm going to download the new mozilla and go from there.. i like Licq, thanks for your help man

delete the old link in your mozilla plugins folder first. sorry about that.

whew! sorry about being braindead there. if i woulda remembered the new mozilla issue with your version of java earlier, i coulda saved you a whole of posting. but glad it's working.

I run into the same troulbe with RedHat9 and Mozilla 1.2.1.

This is a really helpful thread and a great forum. Megaspaz, I would like to express you also my thanks. Now, it works also on my machine :-)

I'm new to linux, but it seems to be a really nice OS with a great community.
