java help

im using suse 9.1 personal, i am a total newbie, now that's out of the way...
i downloaded the java runtime environment (the SUN one) for mozilla firefox 0.9.3 and i do not know how to install them, the FAQs by mozilla were no help at all, can anyone explain it without too much confusion?
