Java blues

I have the latest version of the Sun SDK and Mepis 3.3. My problem is that there is no way at all to get Java programs like Azureus and Jgrasp (an IDE) to open, except from a terminal. If I type "azureus" in a terminal, all's well. If I click on an icon, no go. If I type it into grun, no go. I associated .torrent files with Az in KDE, but that doesn't work, even if I set it to open in a terminal.

Help?

Did you specify the full path to Azureus in your icon's "command"

Why should I? Either way, there are two icons, one with just "azureus" and another with a full path. And they both fail.
