Jamd and apt-get question

Hi!!!

I'm just trying Jamd Linux out. So far, it's great. Simple installation, useful packages (including apt-get, mplayer and flash plugin). I just have a question. When I try to download something using apt-get, it downloads really old stuff as gaim 0.58 or Mozilla 1.2.1. I believe it's because Jamd's apt-get is downloading Redhat 7.3 stuff (distro which Jamd is based on) from apt-get servers.
Is there anyway to download newer packages?

Any help would be great. Thanks

Actually JAMD 0.0.6 is based on RH9, and 0.0.3-0.0.5 were based on RH8. Versions older than that didn't have apt, so I know you're not using a version of JAMD based on RH7.3

What I think you'll want to do is enable the test repository.

To do this, edit your /etc/apt/sources.list file and add the following lines:

rpm http://ceanothus.itcs.uiuc.edu/jamd/apt/ jamd/test/i386 test
rpm-src http://ceanothus.itcs.uiuc.edu/jamd/apt/ jamd/test/i386 test

Then Update to refresh the lists, and you should be able to find what you are looking for.

You can also add the Dag Apt Repository for Red Hat 9 to get at newer packages.

rpm http://apt.sw.be redhat/9/en/i386 dag
