The path to jakarta should be in /opt/jakarta

However I tried installing the Tomcat using the rpms that came on the SUSE disc and couldn't get it working so I downloaded and installed Tomcat from www.apache.org and placed it in /opt/jakarta and it worked with no difficulty.

Ant should be on the SUSE disc otherwise download it from www.apache.org. It is located in /usr/share

Oh and the directory for putting stuff in is:
/opt/jakarta/tomcat/webapps

There is a SUSE mailing list you can join if noone here can answer your questions but you have to be careful not to p*** off some of the users.
