Exclamation iTunes 8 on Wine Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Desktop Edition ----- WILL NOT INSTALL!!!

I am trying to get iTunes 8 installed. I don't know if I can only use
iTunes V 7.3 or what. I've installed Wine 1.1.13 . I downloaded iTunesSetup.exe and ran the wine iTunesSetup.exe command in Terminal, and get this:
wine: could not load L"C:\\windows\\system32\\iTunesSetup.exe": Module not found

I've tried inserting the .exe into the system32 file (I can't remember where I found the file, but I did), and still no luck. Is it the fact that I'm trying to install the 64-bit version of iTunes?

In Wine, autodetect is on, I did the check boxes for ALSA driver, and XP option is on. Is it the fact that a Vista option would have to be present in order to use iTunes 8? WHAT DO I DO?

I want to have A version of iTunes, simply because the open source players really suck HAIRY MONKEY BALLS.

TANKS! MUAH!

Well I would try the 32 bit version, I don't personally know what the status of 64 bit binaries in Wine is, but I doubt it helps what is already a pretty delicate software balancing act.

The Wine HQ Application Database has some information on installing iTunes 8.0.2 under Wine. It looks like some extra steps are involved beyond just running the iTunes installer.

This may also be a good time to consider if you really need iTunes in the first place, and can't replace it's functionality with a native Linux application like Amarok or GTKPod (though you haven't mentioned what you are using iTunes for).

Exclamation

Hey I don't know if you tried all the terminal codes, but I got to the
git apply "msipatch.txt" code. I get this:

LinuxUser2009:~$ git apply "msipatch.txt"
usage: git-apply [--stat] [--numstat] [--summary] [--check] [--index] [--cached] [--apply] [--no-add] [--index-info] [--allow-binary-replacement] [--reverse] [--reject] [--verbose] [-z] [-pNUM] [-CNUM] [--whitespace=<nowarn|warn|fix|error|error-all>] <patch>...

I don't know what to do now. Its actually asking me what to add to it. THERES LIKE 20 OPTIONS IN THERE!!

I tried installing iTunes, thinking that maybe these codes didn't really matter. I get this FIRST error after completing installation, or where at least I THINK I've completed it:

AutoRun is turned off. iTunes won't be able to recognize when a CD is inserted or ejected until your computer's AutoRun setting is turned on. Do you want iTunes to turn on AutoRun for you? | Yes || No |

THEN i press yes.

EVERYTHING GOES BLACK! Everything. Then window borders start to come out of the blackness. THEN! iTunes sais there were errors in the installation and to try again later................ WTF.
