Issues with CVS

I'm having issues with CVS repos i have setup on my server, it's running CentOS 4 and it's a deddicated server.

I've got the server setup and i can perfectly fine checkout files and such on the local machine problem is it's going to be used by a group of devs to work on a project together. We all use TortoiseCVS for accessing the CVS.

Problem is we can't seem to get it configured correctly.

This is what we get when trying to use ssh

stdin: is not a tty
bash: <ip address>: command not found

I've also setup a passwd's file as mentioned here over at ximbot(dot)com/cvs/manual/cvs-1.11.21/cvs_2.html#SEC29 and all we get is

cvs.exe [login aborted]: unrecognized auth response from <ip address>: SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_3.9p1

I've ran out of ideas on how to go about this so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I guess we're gonna need a lot more details, to even hazard a guess. Can you use (Putty) SSH on the Windows side to connect to this machine at all?
